    Dawn and i hiked up Mt.Jefferson today via a trail called the caps ridge trail. There were 3 caps to go up and over, until we later sumitted very steep, very technical. Weather was great, black flies were horrible (we thought we were done with those, nope not up there. ) Hike was only 5 miles, took a little over 6 hours. I'm gonna sit on this recliner for the rest of the night. Enjoy.....

    Although we saw 2 dogs, more the mountain goat type, i wouldn't bring dogs. The caps were very technical imo, false summits, yes summits, made it a rough go. We haven't been out together 4000+footer hiking since October, well i did a winter trail, but got back to the car and we were pooped! Scattered clouds, summits open.

    If i was up for it, an easier hike for the aurora borealus tonight would be nice. Its a bit cloudy at the moment.

    Awesome pics. I'm no world traveler but I have been a few places and other than property tax that will drain your bank account New Hampshire the best place ever. I was just told about the light show tonight. Live in the monadnock region?

    Property taxes not to bad here..... but some areas, yes. We're north, about 25 minutes west of Mt Washington.

    Nice! Clear sky here. Hopefully I can keep my eyes open long enough to get a look. I'm in the monadnock area my bud told me the news people said our area should have a good for observation

    Awesome scenery. Thanks for sharing the pics. The hills are quite different looking than ours. They look easier to climb than ours until you get a close up shot on what you were climbing on. Years ago we did quite a bit of climbing up into what we call the alpine area of the mountains outside of Woss.
