Firewood and an excavator with thumb

We have a mechanical thumb on the kubota. It has made many projects around the house much easier. I just have to be careful to pick the logs up from the middle and not try to pic up stuff that's too heavy. The tractor has the power but I'm worried about bending something. Dang I just realized I don't have any pics of the tractor

If you can swing the hydraulic, I would go that route. You will not regret it

 

Hydraulics are a bonus. If you havs the bucks and tractor capability. You can get the job done with the fixed thumb with practice. I wish I had a mini ex with a hydraulic thumb and a Parker sport cabin and a.... I have a fixed thumb. It works for now

 

Warner What kind of tractor and size?
I could easily do the thumb I posted above.
There must be other manufacturers that make them and if anyone knows of any I'm game to look
Titan makes another one laser cut that needs to be completely welded together and then welded to the backhoe.
The one I posted would work fine, I think
Hydraulic plumbing and a movable thumb would be nice but a lot more work and $ and it's an unknown area for me.
Since I don't use the backhoe that much the one I posted seem OK to me
I have a 1989 Ford model 1920 tractor with a 758B backhoe
If anyone has suggestions I'm all ears.
Keep in mind I can borrow the excavator anytime with a couple days notice and that thing is powerful!

 

Mine is a kubota accessory so I can't offer much other that saying it adds another aspect to the tractor
