Got a husqy 61, mounted bar & chain
    Added gas & oil
    Wouldn't run
Leaking gas, not sure from where
How do I check/replace the fuel line from the tank?

This may help you . HuskyServiceManuals.pdf .. I haven't gone through the whole thing , but it looks like it'll at least give you a direction to go in .
Also, check youtube . There is usually something there that can make things pretty simple to do once you see it done in a video .

Check fuel tank vent on clutch side to see if leaking out of there.
Basically - clutch & recoil covers off, handle bar off, 4 A/V rubbers unscrewed, throttle rod popped out, fuel line off carb, fuel tank handle wiggled off.

If the fuel line is like Tygon or one of the black rubber fuel lines then this is how I do it.

I take an old guitar string but you can use any kind of small wire that will fit through the hole where the fuel line goes through. Put the wire through from the outside to the inside.
Make sure it is long enough to pull it out of the hole where the fuel cap is. Bend a hook on the end of the wire.
Make sure the fuel line is big enough that it will compress some when you pull it through. Cut a taper on the end of the fuel line about a 1/2 inch and then put the hook from the wire through it and close it up.
Put the fuel filter on the other end.
Then pull the wire with the fuel line through until you see the tip of the line starting to peek through. Grab it with some needle nose and then pull all the way through leaving enough in the tank so that the fuel filter is resting on the bottom of the tank. Then it is just a matter of connecting it to the carb.

IF you replace the fuel line put a new filter on too.

There are 2 holes in above pic. Big crankcase hole = loose fit. Small fuel tank hole = tight fit. In your fuel line pic, the big shoulder should be inside the tank making a tight fit against the ceiling of tank.
Like Mag craft says, you don't have to have a special fuel line. You can use Tygon 1/8" ID x 3/16" OD or 1/4" OD.

    I made a full line.
used small hose , slide a 1" bigger piece of the next size up fuel over it mid way
    Worked,
    Got saw running
    It sputtered & backfired ???
Acted like intermittent spark or bad timing.

My saw , I had removed the broken chain brake, (lost parts)
Decided to put the good chain brake on my 61
& use this one as a parts saw.

New spk plug/Tuned it up/ running good
