It's been really wet here in the northeast. Been a bit of a battle getting crops planted in the low lying areas.
Same here...even areas that aren't that low lying. The old saying is that the corn is supposed to be "knee high by the 4th of July"...yeah, most of it didn't make it this year...gonna be a lot of corn silage made this year me thinks
Good looking corn fields here....most got them in before all the rain we have been having. Should be a good harvest if the rains keep up. Last year it was so dry that the corn had very little moisture.
Corn yields were a little light here last year, but still pretty good in this area. We had plenty of rain early, but while the ears were forming, we needed more water. Some ares around us were not as lucky
Corn is wonky here this year also. Low spots are still full of water and a few feet shorter than the other corn. I plant rape as part of my food plot mix for the deer and other critters. They love it!
No wheat done here yet but it is getting close. Had to go to town today and noticed several fields that are really close. Saw a couple of corn fields that are about head high already and that is super for this time of they year. Wheat here is normally started to combine in the second half of July. Oats in August. First cutting of hay any time after Memorial Day but some can be got earlier if really needed for immediate feed. Second cutting of hay around here is more toward the end of July.
