Good call. Retired and still making house payments would be sucky IMO.
Got around 9 years to go myself...

I didn't hear it as a complaint and was just trying to offer some lower cost options instead of ac units.

I should have remembered you have lived out in the dryer region for years and have a good handle on things like this!

I've said it for years now, the difference between in laws and outlaws is that outlaws are wanted!

Last day of work for the summer. Of course, I have about five days worth of work left but it doesn't matter. It will wait until August.
With the warm, dry days we have been having, the inevitable results are a forest fire in our area. Hard to believe that it is dry enough after all the rain we had this spring. It is not a threat to a community but to workers' livelihood.

That's one of the best things you can do! It's been close to 40 years now since we've had one of those danged things. Don't miss it either.

my dad has been staying with us for a few days. This morning hes looking out the slider on the back of the house and asks "is that a scarecrow?" I look out back and see a woman standing on the other side of the creek in the conservation land, obscured partially by a tree. Then I see someone with a clipboard walking away from my stacks, and back over the creek.

Conservation land is literally 10' off the back of my house, but it was cleared by a previous owner about another 40' back. I have about 6 cords of wood tucked into the corner out of sight from my house, or the street, and I have the kids swings in the same cleared area. Can't wait to see what kind of fun letter I am going to get from the town over this.

    I need more land.

Is there any chance you could claim it by Adverse Possession - unlikely, but could be worth looking into.

That's a good question. I'm guessing no, if the previous owner could have done that he probably would have especially before selling. More land, more money.

Worth looking into though. Town just bought the land a few years ago to save it from development.

Adverse Possession of Property underNew Hampshire Law. The concept of “adverse possession” is one of the oldest doctrines in property law. ... In order to acquire title to real estate byadverse possession, “the possessor must show twenty years of adverse, continuous, exclusive and uninterrupted use of the land claimed.

Guess not. I'm at 13 months. The previous owner likely could have though.
