Ten years ago a third of this tree broke off and fell. I have been waiting for the rest to come down and it finally did in the last major storm. I was kind of leery of trying to cut it so I decided to let Mother nature take care of it who knew it would take that long. Now I just need to clean up what is on the ground and then I can drop the rest of this tree. This will be firewood for 2020 -2021

And it fell right where I wanted it. Just love it when a plan comes together.

Hope it holds itself off the ground enough for you to have easy cutting.

Boy that's a dandy! Nice, clean, open area to work in too. Not surrounded with undergrowth and possible varieties of those pesky poison ivy's and oaks!

That is really nice. If it stays off the ground you could not find a better situation for cutting it up. Sweet!

Yeah, good thing it didn't hang in another tree coming down. Wonder how many critter condo's were in it...

Wow I didn't realize it was 1 and 1/2 years ago that the Old White Oak came down well I finally got out to cut it up. It gave the 357xp a pretty good work out. 20181215_103530.jpg

Yes, that's nice wood. We had some big white oak logs that we cut Feb, '17...had a little fungus and the sap was spalted but it was still 35-40% moisture.
