Ditto I've returned things I had as a kid and they honored it. I got an email from midsouthshootersupply poking fun of the merger!
Same here Larry , I've been to the Freeport store several times when we lived in Boston area . Quality merchandise , and a no ?? return policy at any time
back in my younger days we would go to ll bean when we had nothing to do ,it was fun at night since they never close, about a two hour ride ,even in the middle of the night there were quite a few people there ,quality stuff and service but very different from bass pro and cabelas
Yes, you have that right unclefess I used to order from Gander before Cabela bought them out. And yes, both Cabela and Bass has tremendous amounts of dollars into the taxidermy and fish. But, it does bring customers. Personally though, I have thought Cabela has been going downhill rapidly for the past several years and we don't get much from them now. As for the stores, the big on in MI is about 100 miles from us. They built a small one about 35 miles from us but they don't have much compared to the bigger stores.
I have the pair of LL Bean boots I bought in 1979! They have been Re soled 2x-told me not to send them back again. I think I paid $41 of summer haying money for them-I was 16.
I'm more into the kittery trading post, after that I like cabela's. I go by the LL bean store on trips often, but I find their stuff overpriced and their store to be mostly full of expensive clothes.
I am behind the times but ifirc Cabela's bought the mail order div of Gander but not the retail. Retail belongs to some holding co in MN. which is now closing all the gander stores
They are owned by camping world who has stated some stores will be left alone aside from a camping world section of the store. Apparently the new Lansing store will be kept.
That is one of the best stores that we've been in and we've visited several of their stores. I do still like the one in western Nebraska the best but it has been a long time since we were there. We also have one in Saginaw but it is a very small store so not as good of selection. It can be handy though for shipping goods to the store as that is cheaper than buying right at the store. Weird, but that is the way it works.
when we are over there i love going to cabelas, i bring back loads of shooting gear.i have had clothes from there since the year 2000,and they are still very good.there stuff last realy well.been to pro bass but like cabelas best.
I have had fantastic things to say about Cabela's for 20 years. Bass Pro was okay, and I held a somewhat neutral opinion. HOWEVER, something happened last week that totally changed my opinion about Bass Pro- I had a pair of Lacrosse Alphaburly all terrain rubber boots that were several years old, but only worn a couple times a year. The boot and the sole totally separated as I walked through the pasture. The boots were expensive, and I hated the thought of having to replace what appeared to be a manufacturers defect. I took them back to Bass Pro and told them the truth, that they were several years old, but is there anything we can do or would they at least discount a new pair? The staff said they had never seen the sole detach like that from a pair of Lacrosse boots. They said they stand behind their products, and to give them a few minutes to figure something out to make it right. In the meantime, they said to go to footwear and pick out some new ones. I tried on a few pairs, selected the newest version that had a side zip at the calf, and came back up to the front, kind of expecting in the back of my head that they were going to say that that wouldn't count. They said that even though the boots I had were long out of the system, they would credit me for the newest version of boot. I just had to pay $10.00 for the side zip version. It made my day. I wanted to share that with y'all, and give a sincere thank you to Bass Pro Shop. I feel like they really did me right in that situation, and I appreciate them.
