I had a fire last night. 39 degrees here overnight. I had stove top temps up over 700 degrees. That's a lot considering my stove.

I started a fire this morning. Kept it going all day. I had added 2 small splits around 1:00 and then after I got home (don't remember the time) I put in 2 more small splits. Was talking on the phone with etiger and told him it was 80 in the house. It is now 85. Don't think I'll add any before hitting the sack.

Sav, didn't think she was that cool over in MI. Haven't cracked a match here although sounds like we might launch for the weekend.

I often wish I had a Mansfield for the extended burn times. There is no substitute for cubic feet

If you can consistently have plenty of coals come morning time, I'd say that's pretty good. You'd need to go up in firebox or switch to a catalytic if you wanted to have a really long fire me thinks.

Sell both Heritages. Should be able to get about $2,500-$3,000 for them total. A new Manny will only cost you a few buck.

Yeah...funny thing about possessions. I always have a tendency to accumulate. It's the getting rid of part that takes more effort.

Yeah...I still think the Mansfield at 3 cubic feet is a good size. I think a 4-5 footer would be way over the top for most unless you could choke it way back like a Blaze King.

It's been a bit cool Rotti. Warmer today but when I came inside late afternoon, my wife had started another fire. Feels good. Looks like there will be a pretty good cool down by the weekend. Yesterday morning was frosty but not a real hard freeze like we need.

I started bringing wood to the barn today but didn't get much done. Too much company and it is difficult to get things done when sitting around shooting the bull. Hopefully not too much rain tomorrow so I can get more into the barn.
