Family loaded up bikes this morning at the first cockadooodle and headed to Snoqualmie Pass to ride the 22 mile long section of the Iron Horse John Wayne Trail. This tunnel starts the trail, 2 miles long and as dark and cold as they come. The exit. You can make out Snoqualmie Tunnel on the top of the concrete rise. For those of you who want to know, this was a mainline for everything from commuter trains to freight from Seattle to Chicago. Believed to have been shut down entirely around the 1970's. Daughter before the tunnel entrance. Daughter and I on the overlook of Hansen creek. See next picture for view and representation of FHC Via swag. One of many falls and creek runs on this trip. The weather was intermittent, very light drizzles to mostly sun breaks and wind. Home and tired.
Fun ride but my black locust haul is really trying me today since Im at my parents again. Might have to slow it down pretty low today.
