Surburban as a beater-To buy or not to buy?

Snow finally quit long enough and I bought it. Put 300 miles on it already. 19.8 mpg avg on the highway. Oil pressure is lower than my other chevy which has me leaning towards rod bearing. Anyway. ..here she is.

 

That's worth a grand all day. Even if it doesn't last long, or needs work.

 

Id have paid that and put my wife in it!

That's a good looking ride.
All you need to do is tint the front windows and you will look like the secret service.
You could try running thicker oil to improve the oil pressure.

 

Looks like it's a great shape.

 

Even when engine blows I bet you can get $1k on CL listing it for rebuild or parts. Heckthere is $200 of tires and rims on it pprolly and the metal is worth $500

 

I bet you could put a nice crate motor in it and still make money. That thing doesn't look like it spent its life in the rust belt.
