with this tomorrow. It's a small ironwood that has been down for a year. After I grab this, I'll check some areas that haven't been this year for damaged or downed trees .
I'll need to clear the trail that runs near that area this summer, this stuff will be thrown down the hill to the rhino. The trail I did have in that area has a bunch of dead pine down across it so it will be a good two or three days worth of clearing to open it back up.
It ended up that there were three damaged trees in that area so I grabbed them which turned out to be 63 rounds. The first three pictures are the different damage trees and picture 0309 is what I left in hopes the deer would eat some of the leaves.
Not far from the three trees I grabbed today are two more that are damaged or dead, I'll get a trail cleared to these before I cut them. I also get better pictures.
thewoodlands you seem to have a lot of trails and many trees that are damaged or down.. do you manage many acres.. live in a high storm area.. not trying to be too nosey but your cutting never seems to stop.. I am happy for you but curious to how you have so many.. til then keep
With the house lot, just under 150 acres. I try to have or keep open the trails to every part that we can get to, I'm behind on my work this year for a few different reasons but I'll be putting in more hours starting next week. We do get some good winds in our area but the bugs are doing more damage than anything else. Both lots should've been thinned out years ago but never were so I do what I can.
We just bought 0.92 of an acre but when I first added it up I had 9.2 acres. Anyway, there's always something dead,damaged or down to keep me busy.
The wind wasn't real bad when I started this morning but it picked up pretty good so I called it a day about 12:15. I did get a new trail opened up to the two dead ironwood so I won't have to roll it down the hill. Picture 0311 is where I started and 0317 is where I ended up. Picture 0318 will hook up to my original trail that runs on the outside of this area.
