So if I followed this correctly, the well check valve was bad?

Seems to be an unlucky combination of events,

    1) the garden hose faucet left on with brass spray nozzle shut off, hose sprang a leak, emptied cistern via the leak.
    2) line from cistern became clogged from running it dry from hose leak and sucking up any and all particles in it.
    3) old check valve appeared to swing freely but I could hear the pump was not getting water until he put the new check valve on.

Yes Yoops, no well here, all the water in our house comes 400 gal per trip via a giant green tank on the back of WWW's truck (we get the treated city water).

Edit, hoping the old pump is ok and not melted plastic impeller, that it was the old check valve instead, not sure how, but if its good (or if I need to rebuild it) drooling about getting water from the lake for the yard :dancer:

    Back from the races.
There was a bad series of crashes in turn 5, right in front of me on lap 1 of today's Superbike race. I got a series of pics while it was happening.

Everyone was ok, even the guy that got hit by another bike. His day was fine though as his bike had to be hauled off. Everyone's else involved in crashing were able to restart.

I'll try to post up some pics in a thread.

Without Googling right now... I guess I'm familiar with that term... what is it a tank in the ground? Never new you could get treated water like that. I've heard untreated water fill ups. I guess you really have to pay attention to the usage then...

I hope I explain this correctly.

The cistern is a holding device for the potable water. I worked at one house near Lake Superior (of all places!) that every home in the area has trouble with no or little wells for water. The cistern on that particular house consisted of a concrete tank about 5' high and 12'-14' long by 8'-10' wide. This held the potable water for the household. It was replenished very slowly by a very weak well source; which explains the need for the holding tank or cistern.

Then this water is pumped from the tank/cistern throughout the house as needed.

I think the treated water that wildwest refers to is just a matter of filling up their 400 gallon tank from a municipal water source.

All of the OSB is up on the ceiling and walls of the garage! The only spots I have left to do is fill in the bottom foot of the 9 foot walls. I did this on half of the garage area while 99 "slept in" this morning. I figure one more sheet should just about do it for the fill in spots that are left now. Next will be painting so these tired eyes have an easier time seeing while I'm in there!

Got the first coat of paint on the mud room. May or may not put another one on tonight and check that off the list. I'm wicked tired and might pour myself a drink and fall asleep watching the NBA game instead.

Finished up our big landscape rennovation today, those are will roses in the ground. The other pots are a wondering jew and two of the old lady's herbs that haven't sprouted yet. Better in the mulch than sitting on the steps like she had them.

Also, finally getting going with some new items in the Swag Shoppe. Added the FHC bold logo (it's Batman approved!)

Woke up with a horrific cold on our first day of vacation! :hair: I was playing with the little nephews yesterday and I must have got it. I also have 5 kidney stones to pass! :faint: I'm on 2400mg of ibuprofen and Flomax and they seem to be doing a great job.
It's pretty sad when you have to take so many pills for breakfast that they fill you up!

Hard to like a painful post like this. I spent my Spring break in March with a massive head cold. Not fun at all.

Well, up early this morning as campinspecter and the supervisors head out for another load of wood. Two more loads to fill our shed and then another six to fill Mom's empty shed.

Gorgeous sunrise so I will be headed out for a walk. Got most of my projects done yesterday and got to see the Blue Jays win. I like watching recorded programs when you don't know the outcome. Zip through the commercials and keep the suspense.
