The first tree was damaged last fall but I was counting on the winter to take it down, after the strong breeze the other day it was down lower to the main trail so we pulled on it but it didn't want to come out of the Sugar Maple so we kept good tension on the cable and then I started with the saw which did the trick.

The second tree was overhanging the main trail and splitting apart so I made a notch and then used a bore/plunge cut........worked perfect.

The first tree was a Big Tooth Quaking Aspen and the second was a Basswood.

I was scrolling through your pictures and the one where the tree is blocking the driveway and gone the next with just the top laying behind was funny.

So aspen is what you guys call poplar right...similar to the tulip poplar we have in the south?

It's always nice to see it green up.

Well Seasoned , if I would've brought the tractor or had the cable up higher towards the top , it would've come down.

The branch in picture 0292 came down in May from the tree in picture 0293, it's not the best Sugar Maple but it will throw some heat. The hanger in picture 0295 has been like that for two years so hopefully before winter it will come down.

The broken down tree in picture 0296 is an Ironwood I'll get next week.

Not to nitpick but I believe Big Tooth is one type of Aspen and Quaking is another....
