Yep, kinda hard to tell White Oak from Shagbark Hickory sometimes (from just the bark) I cut up a big ole blow down a few years back...was told it was a WO, turned out Hickory, some of the best firewood I've had...was sad to see the last piece of it
That does look like the white oak we snagged awhile back. Another tell (if you go there) is a fresh split surface smells woody sweet, almost vanilla (well to me anyway).
