Can there be a submission to the National Arbor Society and Committee to grant the informal name be changed to "piece of chit" ?
Update for anyone following the thread. Took a piece to a certified arborist and he confirmed that it is Kentucky Yellow Wood. Pretty rare tree this far north, but they do have them growing in Toronto. Heavy, dense hardwood with a tight grain. Used for furniture and gunstocks. Should be great BTU's in a few years.
I stand corrected...the bark looks like ToH, but the wood does not. Interesting find, and great news that you don't have a pile of that other crap to deal with!
