Being from the western united states i had no clue there are bears in pennsylvania. Im sure there is alot in maine and vermont. Greg are you located in the allegany mtns? The eastern us a huge area and it interests me to learn about our great country.
We are not far from Harrisburg PA. FIsh and Game people I think estimate between 6000-7000 black bears in the state, and have done a good job through the years in my opinion with permits to keep the population level, and from what I have heard healthy
