Over the last 5-6 years, I've really wanted to get a dump trailer. They're just so versatile for many different things. I have (had) an 18' 10k equipment trailer for hauling my tractor and mini excavator. My brother also has a 24' 12k equipment trailer. The last few years we have been using the F350 dump to deliver firewood. We have sunk several thousand dollars into it for repairs. It's currently running fine, but we don't want to put any more money into it. So the last month or so I've been shopping around for a dump trailer. I put my equipment trailer up for sale, and it sold within a week. So this past Saturday, the girlfriend and I took a 10 hour road trip (round trip) to Maine, to pick up my new dump trailer. I decided to go with the Downeaster 6x12 10k with combo gate and ramps. The dealer was out of stock for the tarp kit, but the will be shipping one directly to me. I added a 2x12 to each side and a 2x8 to the front. This gives me a 28" side height. This allows me to fit 4 face cord stacked or 3 face cord thrown.
There will come a day when my desire for a dump trailer will win and I'll have one! That's a good looking trailer!
