yesterday we had a lot of rain, first lot for 6 weeks and it was reel heavy have you had much over where you are.
You're going to get a lot of different responses to that question. You have to keep in mind, it's 3,000 miles (4,800 km) from coast to coast. A couple weeks ago we on the East coast had a full week of off and on rain. This week the middle of the country has had some violent, fast moving storms with sporadic tornado's. There was snow in the mountains of the West. This is a vast place and weather varies widely across the country.
It's been a very wet Spring here. The farmers haven't been able to plant corn. It's starting to dry out now.
So far this year in western Wisconsin we are about 7 inches above normal for precip. We have more rain in the forecast thru the middle of next week.
Water is finally going down in the woods but plenty of rain in the forecast. clay shooter how are things for your friends here in southern MI?
dennis, i phoned the farm on thursday, and they could not plant corn last week because of the rain, they still have a hell of a lot of corn and soya beans to get in.but they will keep drilling till its all in.the 2 big drills they have will plant 3,000 acres in 2 weeks.thats each drill. both are air drills.i used one back 2008.and the wife drove one of the combines,we have a whale of a time when we go.over they.must go back soon
It's been raining off and on all week. Went out to the other farm to see how bad it's flooding, minor so far. But on the way home I saw a coyote hauling a pup up out of the river bottom heading for high ground, that's not a good sign.
Been raining steady but not too hard for past 3 or 4 days. I stepped out into it and I didn't melt...guess I'm not too sweet.
We've had a lot of rain the past few weeks, I think it was more than average. Two weeks ago our creek was over flowing and I had a few inches of water in the basement ( dirt floor and the house is 113 years old, so it's seen it's fair share of water in the basement). Now the creek level is almost down to mid summer levels and the dust from the fields would almost choke you. Hopefully it won't be as dry as last year, but not too wet either would be nice.
Probably more like salt than sugar.....ya just start clumping is all that happens! Well, for me anyway!
