Doesnt take Locust long at all to dry and that stuff is gonna be nice burning next year for sure! Heading down to the Locust grove in a bit with the tractor as their calling for back to cold temps starting tomorrow and hoping to get a nice path made before hand..Will take the camera 99
Nope all off of one tree as far as I know. Plus just went out there & there was a 3 " thorn coming out of it... It does kinda of resemble it from the bark.
If it has 3" thorns it is honey locust and certainly not maple. I do prefer the domesticated thornless honey locust.
That's the worse thing about this whole ordeal. The cleanup. Don't want any of those puppy hanging around, to go through shoes or tires....

If next winter is like this one, You'll have some good wood ready to go (Am guessing CSS'd now, locust will be ready for next burn season ? ) 2 years might be more like it though.
Actually should be about 3 or 4 years.... I'll be putting a lot of hours on the splitter this spring... I've got quite a bit already blocked that need to be split too about 16 foot long by 4 deep by about 3 to 4foot tall. Should get me back into business. But a person can't pass up easy wood.
It's absolutely beautiful day about 50 degrees. It's break time right now... ...can't work too hard at it..slow & steady is name of the game.
