    That's stinky.
We had that happen here in 2003.... some called it a hundred year flood, but when it was all done, a few figured it closer to a 1000 year.... it was that bad!:bug:

Yeah, we had one of those 1000 year floods last summer too. :picard:

Leave it to man to have to put a label on something. Like we have any idea?

In this case it's just one of those things that happen.

However, I did raise my eyebrows over this, "The river itself, often polluted with sewage overflow after a day or two of heavy rain".

Umm, shouldn't they be trying to fix that problem? I can understand when it is an unusual circumstance, but not as a normal (ie "often") occurance.

I guess over time Mother Nature will clean that up but just to think of the risk is shuddering. Glad it didn't happen in summer months when people downstream may have been swimming...

Yup, it's a yearly occurrence. I always laugh at the people who complain of flooding when they live right beside the river. But then again, I live right beside a creek that gets rather full in the spring too.

I live about a hundred miles upstream from Ottawa and this is what the river looked like at the local marina a week ago. Sorry I don't have a low water comparison but it is quite high. picture 256.jpg
