No. After I purchased the add disappeared. Either someone else bought the other at the same time or it was wrong.

These are some type of scam postings. I fell for one recently myself; paid but the person never accepted the payment. Then I got an email from PayPal stating the posting was fraudulent and that if I had already paid the money would be returned to my account. It seems that some open an account and then post an auction for something at a ridiculously low price. In my case I don't know if the person was just late in accepting my payment or if the auction was posted for some other reasons.

Yes, but unless it was a long time ago, if you go to your purchase history you should be able to see the listing, or at least details of the listing.

This listing (**********) has been removed, or this item is not available.
      • Please check that you've entered the correct item number
      • Listings that have ended 90 or more days ago will not be available for viewing.
Normally when a listing ends, it can still be viewed. What shows up in your purchase history, can you navigate to the listing through your purchase history that will show that you purchased the item?

The problem with eBay is they don't want anyone contacting them directly; they have that stupid online form and choose this, choose that, and you never get to just type out your question to anyone at eBay and get a direct answer.

No sir, never received mine either, refund was painless though and took less than an hour once the "receive by" date was here.

I don't understand the nature of these auctions. I purchase something a month ago that I thought was too low to be true. I never got the item and ebay refunded the money. However, there has to be some motive behind these auctions; what do they gain by posting them?

It's a gamble for them, once they develop a listing, it's just cut and paste, just use a different user name. It's a numbers game where they don't expect 100% of the people to open a claim for a refund. The price point is purposely low enough that a small percentage of people won't bother to open a claim. Do that day in and day out with numerous items and it can be a lucrative scam.
