Big flow from the south pushing north. To warm up again. This time with Sunshine .SHORT TERM FORECAST... SOUTHCENTRAL...THE SOUTHERN MAINLAND WILL REMAIN LARGELY INSULATED FROM THE EFFECTS OF THE ACTIVE WEATHER OUT WEST. AS MENTIONED ABOVE...KODIAK ISLAND AND TO A LESSER EXTENT THE SOUTHERN END OF THE KENAI PENINSULA WILL SEE SEVERAL ROUNDS OF PRECIPITATION OVER THE COMING DAYS...WITH THE MOST SIGNIFICANT BEING A PROLONGED PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL OVER KODIAK ISLAND ON SUNDAY. THE REST OF THE AREA WILL SEE MORE SUNSHINE THAN RECENT DAYS AS WELL AS DAILY INCREASES IN TEMPERATURES...EVENTUALLY BECOMING WARMER THAN NORMAL BY THE START OF THE WEEK.
I'm starting to feel bad Having these warm spells is nice but seems when we get them , the Mid West & North East get below average temperatures.
I'm not counting the chickens just yet. The weather forecast said a high of 25* and low of 14* today. It was -5* this morning and so far has warmed up to 8*.
Are people going to be retiring to Alaska in the future? What's up with those temps your having? LOL. Enjoy them. It was beautiful here temperature wise today. Rained all day though.
Well it's 12° right now. But yes, many are coming to Alaska for their summer retirement location. Small lot, well & septic, for a small house or trailer or some have 5th wheels & set up their property for them. Many become residents for tax reasons. When 10 million ducks & geese leave, they follow They have the same small set up somewhere in the South . True snow birds.
6* here, saw a high of 9*. The odd thing though is most of Wasilla and Palmer on wunderground was showing temps in the mid 20s?! I have one sensor off my front porch and another out back in the woods and both normally read about the same. I brought wood to a family that spends the summer in North Carolina and winters here. I'm not sure the reason on that one?!
