yup daughter came home... house was cool and damp so we lit her up.. 77 and toasty now .. OAT is 50 and rainy
I finally started a fire after supper, the basement was down to 62. We did bring in more wood this morning because tomorrow night they say it will drop to 28. Maybe snow on Monday and Tuesday.
No fire in our stove....again. Probably this weekend, as 3 days of rain and 50°(in F's) highs will surely cool the house down.
Low 40's now with rain and a breeze looks like 20's and 30's at night this week and 40' during the day looks like some burning will be in order!
Current temp 43° headed up to 49°. Its damp and dreary out, below freezing tonight and likely wood to be burned tonight. For now, the pellet stove is in service to take the chill out.
It dropped below freezing here last night and is forecast to again tonight. 47* here now heading for 30* just loaded up the insert with River red gum, for an overnight burn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bright sunny morning, temps in the 30's heading for 60's! (we'll see) Mayhaps a thunderstorm this afternoon; I'll be on the road again.
Thermometer on the back porch says 40 at 10:45AM. Elm in boiler. There is a breeze blowing so I'll dress warm for my walk/run.
Weather is being all over the place, much colder than average, and blasts of warmer than average. Sitting at +9 C ( about 48 F) right now. Blipped the furnace once this morning, and it looks like we'll only have a few evening kindling fires over the next few weeks.
Yeah the west is getting mild and the east is cool. You get to bounce back and forth between the two opposing differences. Maybe youre on the pivot point of the jet stream! I had a nice fir fire last night. Seems to be my pattern these days. Ive been having an evening fire each evening started when I get around to it which is normally 7pm ish. The temps are still below freezing most nights and the house gets cold. Im loving sitting by the fire right now,,,, maybe more than ever since I know its days are numbered.
Yeah, that's a weird feeling still burning this late in the spring for myself, I think I usually shut down in April and run the furnace. Sure doesn't take much wood to hit 80 F indoors. I probably use up two 6 or 7 inch rounds worth in the evening right now, if that. Good mileage on my little stove.
I'll be getting a fire going in another hour or so. Temp dropping to around 30 tonight and its damp. We'll see 63 tomorrow, but more rain forecasted through the weekend. Plan on loading some birch and ash.
