I thought after getting sunburn last Sunday I was done burning for the season. 41 with a real feel of 24. Burning Walnut,Ash, and a piece of Elm at the moment. Probably put in some Black Locust and Walnut for a overnight burn.

Just fired up the OWB with some oak slab cutoffs and one chunk of maple.
Getting kinda chilly out there again.

Been rainy, cloudy and dreary here all day, hanging at about 50º with a good west wind. Fired the stove up for the first time in about 2 weeks. I had just told the wife earlier that we were about done with the stove. Next week looks like some 40's overnight so maybe a few more yet and that's ok, that much less to move off the patio back to the stacks. 83º tomorrow......been trying to get my splitting and stacking done in the evenings, made it through a full cord 3 evenings, split and stacked.

It got up to about 9c today with rain, snow and sun. Typical spring day in the mountains. 4c at the moment so lit a fire after work. The house is nice and toasty.

It's been warm here lately. I let the wood boiler go out the other day. It's down to 38 though with a high of 40 today. I think I'll fire it back up this morning.

28.6° here a moment ago, just letting the pellet stove take the nip out of the air for a bit. Heading up to the low 50°'s today.

80ºF yesterday. 56ºF now and that is supposed to be the high for the day. Windows are still open from yesterday.
Stove is experiencing the Zeroth law of thermodynamics.

I think this week will be cool enough for more fires. We still have some Cherry left that we planned on burning so we'll burn what we need.

For the heating season of 2017-18, it will be the first season in many that we won't have three cord or 10 f/c of Cherry up. I'm thinking this coming winter will be a brutal winter.

Sitting at +7 C ( about 44 F) and heading for +14 C ( about 58) today. The end is getting near for actually needing a fire but we'll keep having them in the evening for a little while yet depending on temp. No wood burning this morning, and don't even have to call on the oil furnace.

I'll be calling on the BBQ or grill later to burn something though!

Well, I didn't REALLY think we were done for the year... 49 out here (a little warmer by the smoker ;)) but down to 30s overnight, house is only at 64 and definitely going to lose too much overnight to be without heat. Gotta keep the baby and mama toasty. Think we'll be back to the dollar menu here, with some 2x4 cutoffs and uglies of various species doing the deed.

Glad I was able to beat the rain and get the front grass cut and a truck full of pine split. Stacking is just going to have to wait, though. :)
