    Had to head out to PA to pick up a truck bed today. There was a weird gravitational pull towards central PA, I think it was the 8th world wonder known as mount Scotty AKA the wood cube.

    I flew to Ephrata, PA last winter to look at my new American LaFrance ladder truck. As I flew over PA, I felt this wierd sensation. Turns out it was a gravitational pull towards central PA, I think it was the 8th world wonder known as mount Scotty AKA the wood cube.

    Whereabouts did you get the truck bed, Swags? Should've given me a heads-up, I could've fired up the "tractor beam" and saved you some gas money!!

    Went to Sandy Lake north of Grove City, if it was any further east in PA I would have called you and stopped by. But I think you are a good bit further east. Place was J & J Sauer, they get truck beds out of Texas for replacements.

    Scott does not have much room on his lot to store wood but I believe he has 40 cord in one big block in his back yard.

    $1400 for the bed, but doesn't include a tailgate. Tailgate is a few hundred more. So depends on if you need one or not.

    It's amazing how hard it is to find 1 good bed here. I called everywhere for days and couldn't find anything. I did find one bed that was a little newer but had a badly damaged tailgate 5 hours away in PA. Then I put something on Facebook and someone local here gave me their number. It's only a little over an hour from me and he had about 12-15 beds just for my truck. Guy had all kinds of beds sitting in there. They were all used and all had minor dents and scratches, but no rust.

    I've looked in a few yards here in southern MI but they want so much I could literally buy another truck.... The ole girl might just get a flat bed and I'll probably sell my bed for a 2 or 3 hundred.

    Yes I am going to make one come off and a 2000 lb removable which lift gate. The new engine means I finally convinced myself to do it lol. I'd rather have a nice rust free bed but not at that cost.

    What truck did you buy the bed for?

    My f250, bed was rusted out completely under the liner. Broke two of the mounts so it wasn't repairable.

    Previous life it had a fifth wheel on it, but the bed liner hid that and it had lots of rust from it.
