Sold my Stihl 020T the other day to blacksmith, I'm just tired of dumping money in it and sold it to him for what I had invested in just the new parts alone. After running his a few times, I'm just not all that impressed with the 200T series in general. Yes they have good power and balance, but they are expensive to purchase, repair, and replace parts on, they are gas hogs when you're up the tree, and man can that get annoying. I'm quite happy with my Echo CS355T, it's served me faithfully and well. Dollar for dollar I can buy two of those for the cost of ONE 200T. So, the other day a buddy of mine who picks barns and garages and yard sales texts me and says "hey, would you be interested in this saw? It's in parts, make me an offer".

After looking at the pics, I threw a $40.00 offer at him and he took it. From what I can tell, it may just need a P/C.

One brand new and one slightly used chain, decent bar, heck. That stuff alone is worth 40 bucks! I'll break it all down and do a hydrosonic bath for her, and go from there......

    Just what I needed.....another project!!

I've always said if my 35 yr old Echo 280E top handle ever dies.I'll replace it with the 355T.

My problem is I just keep adding future projects to the stable, though I've completed quite a few now there's still more that aren't....;)

I love my 355 ..... First and only saw with a clutch driven oiler I've ever used. I wish all my saws had that. It even survived being a wheel chock once.

Sweet. Post a wanted ad for an 036 top end or just cylinder. Meteor has a very good piston for $34ish.
AM seals are fine for this series. Replace the impulse (3"? Section of oem line...not molded... could use tygon). Oem fuel line is best but check diameter of hole in tank--- may not accept the 036 line but that can be changed.
Air filter is older style. As is tank vent.
    Nice saws for sure.

Bearings can spin in the case on pto side but that's rare. Wiggle that crank. Case gasket near the muffler can weaken and weep oil. Tighten case screws and put heat tape on after rebuild (before installing muffler).

definitive dave has the P/C I need in his ebay store, I'm gonna go ahead and get it off of him. I'll break it all down first for a hydro bath, and make sure I order everything I need.

This will be a good bucking saw for the 20" bar.....

I just googled that. All those years we rolled coffee cans filled with our bird's seed husks under our feet while watching tv to clean empty brass bullet things, :picard:

Oh yeah, you're going to like it. What brand p/c from his store? The Farmertec is the lower price point; I haven't used one for this saw yet. The NWP is slightly higher quality (usually) with better plating. My Hyway is close to the NWP.
Caber rings are a nice upgrade as a lot of pro guys wear the cheap rings down to a noticeable drop in comp.
The circlips are problematic for both so Dave may toss in oem.

The control switch spring can wear but that's easy to replace. The oil line--- same as your 064. So, yea...fun to replace. I've been using stihl fuel line with a 1/8"spring inside it to prevent collapsing from heat. I dont have a lot of time on this setup tho...it cuts install time by more than half.
After a lot of time on 034s we've said-
    20" on 034super, 036, 036 pro (all 48mm)
    18" on 034 (46mm)
In hardwood with a decent chain, that is. softwood? both can handle 20" easily.

Nice 036 cylinders for sale on ope. Throw in a $34 meteor from Dave and you're golden.

    Mines just a standard 034, but I can use the 48mm p/c, can't I?
