A guy on Craigslist in Sardinia Ohio has for sale a County Line 35 ton splitter he bought in February. He says it has only had maybe 3 tanks of gas through it. He wants $1300 and ain't willing to deal at all. I know little about splitters, I've always split by hand. Is it a good brand and what should I look for when I check it out? See my post, "They're Back," in the Wood Pile forum and you'll see why I may need a splitter.
TSC is having a sale right now. 25 ton for $850. I would personally go this route. My old 22ton never failed to split anything I put on it. CountyLine 25-Ton Log Splitter - For Life Out Here
They are a good brand but do not think you have to get one that big. A 20 or 22 ton should do all you need if you can find one. Ours is a 20 ton and almost 30 years old now and it has split well over 300 cord.
