Just got this tiller attachment for my Mini Steer. Not real satisfied yet, but our ground is very hard now. They predict some rain this week and will try on softer ground.
I have a tiller for my Mahindra tractor and it works great. Our ground is mostly clay and limestone and it will till it up nicely.
What don't you like about it? If you want to try it in some softer ground, I have plenty as you saw last weekend. I had thought about trying to till today but may put it off for a while yet. However, I might put it on tomorrow and if so, it will be difficult to not try it out if I don't sink in the mud.
I have been lucky that my brother lets me borrow his Honda Tiller each spring. We have a small garden and once I get started it takes me about 30 minutes to go over it twice. I will be getting him a gift certificate to a restaurant to give him when I return it.
My mini may be a little under powered, but they knew what model I had. My ground is so dry that it has cracks in it. My opinion my well improve when we get some rain. The picture in the PM I sent you was 3 passes. I think I will pass on trying it out on your sandy soil. It would probably work great on your ground.
Imo tilling takes some hp AND patients. I use a older than me pony, that I got when my grandfather passed! For breaking ground it's useless but it's sentimental! I usually borrow the parents newer horse when I need to bust sod and it's still a pia.
I have been reading and viewing a lot lately from David Brandt, Gabe Brown and Ray Archuleta about their approach to no till and the results. I must say they are quite convincing but it is a whole change to how to work with the soil.
