Good TV Shows?

We gave up cable a while back because, well, we don't like reality programming and it seemed like that was all that was ever on. We watch a few shows but are on the lookout for other good ones.

Currently airing shows we watch: Bones, Walking Dead, American Horror Story, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Raising Hope, Simpsons, Bob's Burgers. Trying to get into Mad Men, keeping an eye on the new Fox lineup because we have Fox Now on Roku.

What else should we check out?

 

Hulu. I like ScyFy (sp) channel.
Revolution, Revenge, Elementary, Blue Bloods.......there's a ton of stuff if you look hard enough.
Blue Bloods is on CBS.com though. Big Bang Theory, Hawaii 5 oh.

Boardwalk Empire is a great one to watch, American Horror Story's new season seems promising, The Middle and Modern Family are funny. Only reality TV show that I like to watch is Alaska Last Frontier.

 

I don't watch commercial tv I can't stand all the commercials HBO / Cinamax for movies and Boardwalk Empire, Game of thrones PBS for Downton Abbey

I used to like SciFi channel when they made good shows... Battlestar Galactica and Stargate SG1

 

She watches Boardwalk empire, it seems ok. Neither of us could get into thrones. I remember when scifi was good, before syfy. Revolution was awful, I really wanted to like it.

 

Justified, Falling Skies, Under the Dome.

 

Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad(before the Season finale).

 

SOA, Breaking Bad and Hell on Wheels.

 

When I was laid up from surgery, I went through the BBC Bleak House miniseries (2005). It was awesome.

 

What is that one about?

 

Based on the Charles Dickens novel which I never read. An orphan, millions to be inherited, scandal, and love.

If that isn't up your alley, then my ex husband and I watched Battlestar Galactica, 24, Lost, and The Shield.

 

Speaking of BBC shows based on great books, have you checked out the Dirk Gently series?

 

I don't watch regular tv. I gave my ex the televisions. What is it about?

 

About a holistic detective, by the same guy who wrote Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Not much at all......Listen to radio alot.

 

I have it on a lot whilst I am relaxing afterwork, while I am posting on here. Some nights it doesn't even come on, it's nice not having cable, I watch things at my leisure.
