I'm a little late in getting this out there, I turned 30 on March 31st, just haven't had much coherent down time since. So my wife planned a surprise birthday party for my 30th, the party was the day after on April 1st. We did the normal birthday stuff on the 31st, and then the next evening (April 1st) she said she wanted just the two of us to go out to dinner. That sounded fine except she wanted me to go to a place downtown, I am no fan at all of going downtown so I was a bit irritated with this idea but I was going to go along with it. The plan was to drop our daughter off at her parents house and then head to the dreadful city. The whole way to her parents house I'm thinking things like "why would she think I would want to go somewhere downtown for my birthday" and "why are we going out again when we just went out last night" (notice the irritation and ignorance to what was really going on). Then when we pulled in suddenly I noticed a whole lot of cars there at her parents house, and I recognized them as family and friends cars immediately. Right then is when I found out this was a set up. She had everyone dress in plaid also, it was somewhat of a lumberjack themed party because of my obsession with cutting wood. I couldn't believe she got me so good, normally she can't keep a thing secret between us. I had no idea at all that this was in the works! Anyways, the reason you clicked on this thread. That's a birthday cake any hoarder can appreciate!
