Thought I was bleeding...it was the tree

    Was cutting up a nice size sugar maple that fell over a year ago and thought I had an accident. About 10' up from the base there was a section of the trunk that "ballooned" and looked like it burst open. I started at the top and was working my way down to the base, hit the spot just above the ballooned area and gallons of reddish water came gushing out. I looked to see if I was cut before I realized it was the tree. Anyway, scored a good load of sugar maple and found another nice size hackberry that fell over.

    Did a bunch of moisture from the tree just pool in the pocket? Never seen that much before. I've still got a lot to see and learn though!

    Ill go and get a pic Mopar as we were over checking things out yesterday and the ironwood stumps that was cut in the winter is pooling sap right now? ;)
