My local tree service had this pile waiting for me. So nice when it is all bucked up and ready to go. As I was leaving I saw another house with three large rounds out front. Knocked on the door and the guy even helped me get them in my truck. Got home and firefighter buddy needed help clearing a fallen tree off a service road. Got some chainsaw time in with a friend. Later today going to.pick up some more birch, I'll post picks of that later.
What's this stuff? After some time the silver bark just throws me plain off and tells me this is a pine. Its like that glazed eye look, "you've seen them all" mentality.
It is cotton wood. Grows like weeds around here (5200 ft) Colorado. Where I live (7600ft) it is all pine and aspen. I do not know what the three big rounds I got around the corner were, I will try to get pictures when I get home.
Definitely a different bark but as long as it keeps you warm later.. to tell you the truth Im not a fan of it. But if its the only stuff that is plentiful as corn in the midwest... why not right?
This is what I got today. It is behind a church and the guy that watches the church wants it gone. Last one I dropped went the wrong way so I am going to bring the come along down before I take any more. Anyone tell me for sure what it is? Well I will have to try later, I have pictures of the trees with leaves but uploading on my phone seems to be broken. Backwoods Savage Canadian border VT
