Time involved would also be determined if using a powered splitter, or a splitting ax/maul.

I cut/split a fair amount every year. Cutting on log landings is pretty efficient and I can park within a few feet of the logs. One day I figured it up and estimate 8.5-9 hours /cord hauled home, split and stacked. So a little over $25 /hour for my exercise regiment.:salute: Beats going to a gym and I can use chainsaws.

So far my biggest variable has been dealing with the tops and small stuff since I have been felling in my back yard to clear trees away from my fence line. I always need to cut up and remove the tops and that can take almost forever. If I had even a half acre of woods around where I was cutting I would just pile up the tops and leave them as game cover.
