Its a $300 saw new so use that to gauge quality and cost. If in decent shape id say yes. I have one and am not really impressed with it. But I am a 70cc plus type guy now?
(Edit) Just for clarifcation, I had it listed on here for $230 including shipping so I would have been getting around $200. I also threw it on CL for $230 and got close to that out of it. Also I don't think a 445 is enough saw especially if it is your only saw. Check out the classifieds section on here and in my opinion you would be better off going for the MS290 listed on here for $260 including shipping.
Yes, I was looking hard at the MS290, but It's gonna be a week or so before I can get that scratch. Maybe I'll PM the seller (have to look up the add again.)
If your serious and really will have the cash in a week I buy he works with you? Maybe paypal him half or something as a down payment.
Id shoot for getting it for less . If its mint..go for it . I had a 450 for quite awile.....I even put a 20 inch bar on it so I didnt have to bend down as far . Even with the bar sometimes almost buried in a big tree..it would handle it just fine . Notice I said SOMETIMES !!!! It was a good all around saw for a 1 or 2 saw plan . The 450 was light and easy to deal with . The XP thing is cool as heck..but overrated for the average firewood cutter IMO Be careful of the bigger..Bigger...BIGGER thing !
Neighbor across the street has one. Except for having the splined carb mixture screws it is fine. It has a 425 NK chain on it. My 545 runs circles around it. But that is not fair to say for the 545 is 50cc.
Those splined screws are awesome for carb adjustment as long as you have the tool. Way easier to adjust with the saw running than a mini flathead. That particular tool isn't all that difficult to get either.
I would agree the screws are awesome for the adjustment. But husky and its dealers need not think its a epa violation to sell them, to people!!! There are some on ebay right now but there about $19 shipped. Its a $6 screwdriver.
