My buddy and I started our trailer rebuild yesturday and it turned into keeping the tongue and axles. We are gonna start over and build a new hauler because this one is pretty much shot so we cut the trailer up and have the good parts separated from the bad. I might be a redneck. Unfortunately there was so much rot and rust we just kept cutting and now we have basically a sturdy tongue and axles left to build off of. We have access to a huge amount of scrap via the scrap yard and a few friends so here goes another trailer build. My third one.
Pete, Looks like mobile home axles. Plenty of weight capacity for a car hauler. I had my welding buddy, Charlie, build me a dump trailer using some mobile home axles. It was a great trailer. Sold it a few years ago to a landscape guy and he uses it to haul mulch. Thanks for the photos. Marty
I thought that was where the axles came from they looked way to beefy to be store bought. The only issue that annoys me is the axles are about an inch in length different. I am hoping to find a heavy leaf spring set for them and make it into a flatbed deck. The tongue was litterally the front of the guys house so it is very strong and heavy! I can't wait to get going on this build!
