I don't normally watch the fail videos; one, I don't like seeing people get hurt and two, I would rather spend the time learning how to do it correctly. However, I fell for the click bait in the tittle; while the man did put his son in danger, there was no near death moment. However, that was probably by the grace of God as they say. The reason I decided to share the video is because I have never seen anyone operate a saw wearing Hawaiian shorts and flip-flops; of course no eye protection or ear plugs as well.

I think this guy is gonna hurt himself someday. Observe how much he puts his body and face in line with the bar/chain. It's like he's a left hander who never grasped that everything is on the wrong side? I started noticing his sloppiness around 4 min 50 seconds.

This guy is a perfect candidate for full body and face chaps lol

Who wears flip-flops for any job where you need to have sure footing? The man claims he has experience in felling trees and wants to teach his son. He admits that he has an inadequate saw for the job but proceeds anyway. However, wearing flip-flops?

Look at that guy, Hawaiian shorts and flip-flops and it is a fairly good size tree he is taking down.

OK, I was going to post the link but it inserted the video in the comment. Let me try this; this is the link to the video.

Showing his son how to do something he is ill prepared to do himself. :picard: I have to say I wish I had someone experienced to teach me how to drop a tree. When I first started cutting, I bought a saw and walked into the woods. The Lord was looking out for me. No way is this all "common sense" . My dropping trees days are over.

While it's important to learn how to fell a tree correctly, it's also important to learn what to avoid when felling a tree

Make a big deal out of the lack of PPE if you wish but there is so much more wrong in there that the PPE is minor. That idiot just does not know what he is doing and that is the scariest thing of all. And he is teaching???!!!!!!

My father in law said to me once that his girlfriend and her family were worried about him bucking up a load of logs for them. I asked why and he said because he was in his bare feet. I had to ask why...he said he was tripping over the end of his sandals and the bare feet was safer...so I said well that seems like a fairly normal thing to worry about:).

Where was the "near death experience"? Just looked like a whole lot of stupid to me. Actually went much better than I expected from the title.

I've cut a few rounds on the bucking stand wearing shorts and steel toed boots on a hot summer day, and after about 3 passes, my right leg and ankle were stinging and itchy from flying chips. And that's with a dinky chain saw.

Everything he does just looks so awkward. I have a feeling every time he starts a chainsaw, that is a near death experience.

The toughest thing to watch is how confident he is, and he's clearly an imbecile.

The guys got one heck of an angel watching over him.
