I always feel sad for family and friends when things like this happen - Police Investigate Death of Piermont Man in Thetford Thetford — Police are investigating the death of a Piermont man who was found trapped under a large tree at a frozen pond in Thetford today. Jason Eno, 45, was pronounced dead at a Route 113 property where he had been scheduled to trim trees, according to a news release from Vermont State Police. Eno’s family and employer contacted police after they had not seen him since Sunday. Police found him about 11 a.m. under the tree, which “had apparently fallen on top of him while cutting the limbs.” His body was removed from the frozen pond. This is sad, sounds like he was limbing the tree and cut one that caused the tree to roll over on him. RIP Jason Eno.
I use to cut in the woods by myself all the time, but after being on this forum I wised up a little bit and now make sure someone's around when I'm cutting.
Always distasteful reading about these things. It makes one wonder if he made a bad decision to go onto the ice for cutting. Not a good way to go at all.
cousins coming up this weekend waiting on the rest of the story... Backwoods Savage Trooper thinks tree knocked him to the ice which then thawed and froze again.. making the body retrieval more difficult as he was partially frozen in... sorry if that's sounds in delicate not sure of how else to word it...
Last month in a town in the western U.P. a man was found dead in a home. Not so unusual right? Thing is, this town has a committee that picks run down house and then razes them.
