How long do you season your newspaper?

Going on six years.

 

Got some on the back porch in "log" form going on two years. They will go camping with us, I think. Not good for anything else.

 

My folks had some when they got rid of all the wood burning stuff that was from the Reagan era.
Also had some wood that was stacked around 1983.

 

Well I can't edit, but wanted to add that they went to coal 2 years ago after about 30 years if heating with wood.

 

I'd have to go through all the bags in the shop to find out.
Not gonna' happen.

 

Super cedars or the menards knock offs take up much less storage room and only require a small chunk to effectively light off a whole stove load of wood.......

 

That's what I'm finding too.

You must have an EPA stove....

 

parents started saving newspapers in the mid sixties because paper was going to be worth something some day ....
they had half a 10x12 shed full by the early eighties and got rid of the papers and the shed - I think because a woodchuck was living under the shed

 

That news paper from 2008 - it must have been made out of red oak. Should be ready to burn by now. Heheh.
