So I picked this up as project...Cuz I never had this 46cc style Poulan before. I've read all the common problems on this model and the other variations. So I was not surprised when I tore it down and found every single common problem It's true...The typical Poulan purchaser knows squat abt maintenance And it had hardly any compression......So today I figured out why. Pistons scraped up..Ring stuck but the cylinder looks pretty good...And will be reused .Will make a nice project. I always forget to take before pics....Not this time . The after pics will be a bit
Got some parts cleaned up. Hot water....Simple green...And a toothbrush !! Now...On to the heating pad
Looks like it was missing two of the engine mounting bolts, but the outside of the saw looks to be in pretty decent condition. It almost looks like the engine had something inside marking up the piston, does not look like your typical lean seize. All the plastics came out real nice. It should make a nice running and handy saw when your done.
