    Well........not counting chickens yet.......

Neighbor of mine who I know fairly well (and he knows my saw obsession) was at his gym on Friday and a guy in the gym asked the guys if anyone wants a used chainsaw. My neighbor immediately thinks of me and tells him I might be interested. All I know is it is an older Stihl and it seems he doesn't want much money for it. Should know more by mid-week...........and, there is the FHC version of a cliff hanger! My wishful thinking side is thinking.......044! My gut is thinking.....017. Wish me luck! Cheers!

I hope it is an 044! If we're going to place bets though I'm putting my money on an 031.

I now exactly squat about NH, but I do know where I'm from in southern IN everybody and their brother has an 031. Honestly, I would have a more difficult time naming people in my home town who don't have an 031 than people who do...

Now, all that said, there area helluva lot of awesome "older Stihl" saws. Could be an 044. Could be an 056 Mag II. Could be an 090. You never know!

They are plentiful here as well - I'll see ads with guys selling 5 at time. I've owned about 7 of them - they do okay for parts and would likely take it if it's super cheap. Wait - I'm jinxing myself......044....044.....044.....Cheers!

In NH figure that folks know all about cutting hard wood so they are not going for an anemic saw. My guess would be 036 or better.

Let's put down some bets! $10 a guess and winner takes all. If the saw isn't guessed no money is exchanged. We can send it all through PayPal.
I'll put $10 on 021 and $10 on 029 since 031 is taken! Anybody else in?

    $10 on my guess.

My opinion is that the "winner" should be a Pay It Forward type of thing? Just a side note suggestion.
