Figured I'd split in the bush where I cut so all I have to do is stack when I get home. Seems like it would cut down on the extra handling. Only had a couple hours this morning. But it felt good to get out and cut.since the big snow shut us down for a couple weeks Only scored 1 load of white beautiful oak If I had more time I would have done a lot more for sure. Sometimes ya gotta keep the Mrs happy too
Nice! If nobody can get in there and get the other wood before you can get it out that's great. Less moving the wood, no mess to clean up at home, and more time in the timber. All great things, Mmjhunter !!
More than one way to skin a cat, and in the end, it's a big stack of wood at home. I like to leave the mess in the bush too, although I'm too lazy to split wood there.
I hear ya. I usually pack her tight and high. Had a prior engagement with the little lady. Or else I would've had the bed on the tires
If you are splitting by hand, you are right in that doing the splitting out in the woods works nice. However, most of us have graduated to hydraulics! Thankfully.
Nice take, Mmj-. About half what we burned this last winter was white oak and I rate it "super-duper".
