40 degrees outside got a pine fire going just before supper and just now threw a couple small oak splits on top to take it to bedtime and the late night stuffing. Probably keep it going on oak until Sunday night.
Today was 45°F going down to 29°F tonight and snow tomorrow. Yesterday I got home and brought some dry wood in, and started moving other wood so it would be easier to access after the coming storm. I was still getting over being sick, so I didn't keep at it too long. This morning I saw the forecast had changed to 24" of snow! I made sure to get back out there today and move more wood!!
Current temp 32° going down to 21° overnight. Letting the stove stay cold tonight since were at 71° inside.
48°F right now here in the Lou. Burning some sweet gum with a small piece of white oak to give it a little extra uumph. Got the sliding door screen open with a nice breeze after a good days rain.
Current temp 29° headed up to 40° today. Loaded the oakleaf with maple and birch. Red sky in morning, smoke from the stack pushing down, snow starting tonight upping the amounts to 6"- 10" of heavy chit.
Thunderstorms and bunches of rain yesterday, was near 70 degrees. Temps started falling off so I fired the stove with some elm sticks and a couple chunks of mystery wood.
Last nite it was 35 Don't know what it was about the weather yesterday but it was bone chilling Fired up the furnace last nite to get the chill off my bones as propane wasn't cutting it. 43 this morning I'll prolly load a lil wood and a big wad of coal to keep the house a hot dry heat for when I get home from work with froze bones . This getting old chitsucks!
There is not much good about it. I've burned it in my CB and it does heat so if you have some just cut it up and burn it just don't expect a long lasting fire or coals. Don't leave it on the ground it will sprout.
Not much variation in temp outside here and supposed to be the same for the next two days 38-41ºF. Day and night. Keeping the stove going, will just let the coals fester longer between reloads andhope it doesn't get too wamr inside. Red oak.
The temp. is around 34* and I loaded the CB with Maple and Maple yesterday about 5:00pm. should be good till tonight maybe even tomorrow morning.
It was 35 this morning with another load of cherry in the liberty. Nothing for snow in our area Gasifier .
Just above freezing, and supposed to hit upwards of +7 C (45? F). Poplar kindling chasing away the morning chill. I think I have a date with the BBQ this evening.
1c right now and I let the evening fire burn itself out last night since my daughter had a sleep over in the rec room. They dont like it a sauna in there. Probably leave it cold until after work today. What are bbqing tonight? Pictures?
