We are clearing a path in the woods to put in some more fencing for the sheep. I had to to take down 2 small black cherry trees that were in the path of the fence. Also, cherry leaves can be poisonous to ruminant animals, they can build up cyanide. Anyways, I got three buckets of small cherry. That makes me happy.
Nice work mike bayerl , that is the one tree that the wind has taken down the most on our property. We still have three or four down that I plan on getting before the next heating season starts.
Well done. I don't get much cherry, most of my wood is ash, courtesy of the EAB. When I get some I save it for special occasions. For example the firzt cool day of fall I fire up a load and then my wife and I sit outside where we can smell that wonderful smell.
Gotta love cherry. Dries fairly quick and you get some fast heat from it. And if it's in the way of the fence line then it will keep your home warm
