    Maple but i havent seen ash but i can tell some of the right stuff is maple.

    I agree with mr.finn that does look like White Oak excellent fire:woodsign: for the coldest of nights.

    I'm thinking it's maple. He's from NJ and there's a lot of maple around here compared to white oak.

    The bark has a little oak look to it but maple looks similar. Tough call but I'm still going maple.


    If it's dry in one year it's maple. If you check it after a year and it's still 40% moisture .....well it's oak
