Sorry to hear, I'm new here, but I enjoyed his posts, they were very informative and down to earth. He will me missed.

I have just exchanged a short e-mail with Maribeth. ...all that's going on and she took the time to write me back. Maybe, in the fullness of time we can figure out what some of her needs are and help in some way.

I have seen guys I ride with, for instance, help a fellow rider with his C/S/S for a season as he lived off the grid in VT and both his knees were shot. I know I for one would gladly help if needed.

    I am stunned.

I see there is a guest book on his obituary. I really hope one of our mods posts something classy up there and signs it as all of his online wood burning buddies.

Charlie seemed to be a great man that was loved by all here.

Thoughts and Prayers go out to his family and friends.

I will gladly help in any way possible. Please find out whatever we can do and let us know. These times can be trying for the spouse and they need all the help and support they can get.

My deepest sympathy to you for your grievous loss, Maribeth.

Charley was a good man, with a heart of gold. He will be sorely missed.

Your many wonderful memories of life with Charley will undoubtedly be a source of great solace in the lonely months ahead.

Just wanted to let you know that I have received another e-mail from Merribeth and she has been on the "THE WOOD HOOD", she is very touched by the warm replies you guys have posted.
I was not sure how Charlie had his log in set up or if she knew his pass word so I gave her mine, so if she shows up on my account, you'll know why, she did not make a trip to Montana.
She is not real sure how the forum works as she has never been on one, my guess is she is showing up as Charlie, as quoted above.

    FYI, it's not Charlie's ghost, it's his wife. I have tried to coach her on how to post by taking some Screen Shots and explaining how to post, hopefully she can figure it out and she can manage to post a reply. If she doesn't she wanted to let you know;
Hi Woody, I have read all the wonderful things that everyone has been posting about Charlie. I have tried to get on and say thank you to everyone but I am not having any luck. I don’t even see a spot where I can log in using your “log in”? I guess I am not that computer literate as Charlie was.....LOL

You guys are AWESOME! I am AMAZED!

Woody, I can reset Charlies password for her if she wants. I've been so dang busy this weekend I haven't had time to email her to talk with her. Maybe we can change the user name for her too, if she wishes. Or we can start her own account. Either way, I hope she hangs with us so we can help her learn how to keep those stoves going. And I hope she knows that Charlies memory will always be here on this site.....we won't ever forget him....

As wonderful a man as Charlie was, it only makes sense that he had such a wonderful woman for a life long partner.

I am still in shock about losing this great friend. He's younger than I am.. and seemed so full of life. I remeber a post he made a month or so ago, saying he would be busy and not around as much. It makes me wonder if he knew something...

59? ....you know, I hate going to the doctor for the check-ups, the blood pressure the cholesterol, listening to him tell me to go on the Dash diet, lose a few pounds, get my colonoscopy done, yada...yada.. you guys know what I mean.

...and sometimes maybe it doesn't matter, maybe the big guy in the sky just wants us back.. but there are way too many of us guys not taking care of ourselves.

Just a little rant to put the bug in the ear of all you guys who haven't been to a doctor in forever, because you think you're made of steel, and besides.. you don't have the time.

    You know who you are.
...anyway.. just such a great guy he was.

Maybe another lesson is for us to spend more time with our spouses and families. When I was younger I had to work a lot of hours to pay the bills. Now that I'm older and our finances are better I am trying to work less and do more with my wife. I'm lucky, my wife enjoys helping me process wood.

I hope Maribeth can learn to navigate the site and feel comfortable posting here. Charlie was a great resource here in many parts of the forum, and spent much time helping others, I hope in some small way we can return the favor to her. It would be a great way to honor his memory.

You folks continue to amaze me! Ladies too.....no wonder Charlie loved you all so much, when he left the "Other Forum" he said to me, "Woody you gotta come over here, this is the best of the best. Forget all the BS that goes on over there, hang out at the Firewood Hoarders Club.....just like a big extended family". Now I know what he meant. Let me know how I can move my advertising over here, this is the site I want to support, you folks deserve it.
