    I had to cut a dying gum hovering over my chicken pens today. I hate the stuff but I figured I may as well go on and attempt to split it and use it. That's probably the last one . EVER! :hair: Too many good trees around here for me to do that again!

    I have one in my front yard that provides me hours of "fun" a few times a year picking up those wonderful seed pods. The thing that keeps it safe are all the horror stories of splitting it

    Noodle it up and then split down. Goes a lot easier that way. Just got a cord of it. Nice straight tree actually went fairly well. Now the Sycamore has been a b!!!h. Even following the same procedure.
