    Hello
Many major brand stoves have the standard Oilite impregnated bronze auger bearing. They wear out and cause auger motors to wear out sooner too! That is why Dr Whitfield invented the Nylatron Auger Bearing! Napoleons and Pelpro pellet stoves use the next best bearing, the high temp white nylon bearing.
Here is a typical case of a Hudson River West Point:
The pellet feeding did not seem right! It works but not with a consistent flow and some jamming. Just throwing on a new auger motor may not be the best fix? Taking it all apart for inspection and then finding the best fix or upgrade is always best!
The first problem was getting the back panel off the stove because the external damper was siliconed on and the handle stuck up enough to prevent the back from slipping off over it!
We finally got that damper off the back by cutting the red silicone at the joint with a knife and wiggling it until it came off. Then, the hitch pin would not pull out of the auger motor so we wiggled it until it broke and then we had to bang the rest of the pin out by holding the auger motor so that the hole in the auger motor shaft better aligned with the hole in the auger shaft and using a hammer and torx driver pushed it thru! Then, when we tried to pull off the auger motor out of the auger shaft, the shaft broke! We took out the endplate bolts and pulled out the auger with the endplate and then drilled out the rest of the motor shaft with 3 different size drill bits!!! Not so easy! LOL !%#€£!!
Then, we found the score in the Oilite bronze bearing and could see that it turned in the endplate with the auger and motor!! Not Good!
    See video

We drilled the endplate with a step drill bit and installed the upgraded Nylatron bearing and orange silicone gasket for the endplate and slapped in the better GA auger motor with new hitch pin. See pics below
