I responded to a craigslist ad for a Husqvarna 359. Came home with a 359, L65, a new 20" bar, new Carlton A1 chain, new carb kit and fuel filter for the L65 and 2 gal of bar oil.
The 359 is an 08' e-tech model and runs very well. I had part saw 357 that I swapped mufflers when I got home. Piston looks good a little brownish, no cracks or scratches, not minty but good used shape. 18" 3/8 .058 bar and full chisel chain with 1/3 life left.
The L65 was a throw in. It fired but did not run. Piston looked good, very nice cosmetically for its age and very clean. Nice Windsor bar and chain. I will get her running hopefully get some money back.
I am going to stop looking for saws and start working on the ones I have now. Hopefully start choosing my favorites and moving some down the road. Unless something falls in my lap. IMG_3135.JPG IMG_3136.JPG IMG_3138.JPG IMG_3139.JPG IMG_3137.JPG

He had the 359 advertised for $200. I wanted to pay less then that and he kept throwing stuff in the deal till I couldn't refuse.
I tried not to buy but I lack will power when is comes to chainsaws.

I got to use the 359 and have a little fun today. I modded the muffler this week and did a couple comparison videos.
I switched from the cat muffler to non cat. Even the non cat had a divider in the middle of muffler with a 3/4" hole on bottom right for the exhaust to go through. From there it went up to the top left and through a 1 1/2" long tube out the top. I drilled 3 3/4" holes through the divider and connected it with the exhausting hole. Then I put 3 1" slots in the clutch side front top and bent them out with a flat screwdriver. Then I wire brushed it and painted it with high temp high gloss spray paint.
The difference was enormous! The videos do not do it justice. Turned l and h screws out about an 1/8. Tuned by ear so no tach numbers. How does it sound?

Avg cut time went from 4.5 to 3.5. I would have been more impressive but that was the best log I could dig out.

I put a carb kit in the L65, new fuel line, fuel filter and cleaned air filter. I checked the piston from exhaust outlet and intake. It looked very good for a saw this age. It is good to go.
