I did have a few that vibrate forward and fall onto the engine but none since I welded the angle on the front of the log cradle

So did you order the cradle or the table BetterCallMaul ? I've been debating on which one to get. I'm thinking the table as it's larger and covers the engine. Would probably have to flip vertical to refuel but that's no big deal.

I bought my log catcher table off the shelf at TSC. $50, then had to modify it because a bolt broke and logs would vibrate off the front and fall on the oil tank/filter .
Might as well make your own and weld it solid

I actually ordered the cradle last Friday from DHT before even taking possession of the splitter - installed it yesterday. I didn't even see the table when I ordered. If I had to choose between the two, it'd be tough but I might have still gone with the cradle based on price. Agreed that refueling isn't really an issue.

The smaller table for the DHT generally needs some tweaking. It starts to loosen just a little and tilt away from the splitter. You can tighten it again and again and it will still happen. Put a few washers between the body of the splitter and where it attaches to the beam to angle it back up.

I just welded mine where I wanted it, I suggest to anyone with this table to find a buddy with a welder and do as I did, it didn't take but 10 minutes, case a beer should cover the cost :D:cheers:

I also have the 27 ton. It works great. As a matter of fact, i just pulled it out of storage today. Been sittig since last november. Checked the fluids, put in fresh gas and it started the 4th pull. In my opinion, its hard to beat the dht's. I will also seond yhe comment about running the carb dry before storage. I think that had a lot to do with mine starting so easy after being in storage. Your gonna love it.

Is that a plastic tub on the lawn cart?

I broke the plastic on ours in 2 places already hauling wood. Only used it a few times

Yes, plastic tub. Had it for maybe 6 months and it's been durable so far. Even dropped some heavy rounds from the back of my truck onto it.

Hopefully the splitter will streamline my process. Take rounds off truck into splitter, take splits with dump cart back to stack. My process pre-splitter had way too many movements.
