I know its why we do what we do but I hate altering the landscape, i.e., I hate seeing the void in my stacks but it makes me work harder so all good I guess-between this 1/4 cord and a bunch of uglies I emptied from the bin,,,this should be enough to kick this mild winters azz...You can see 5/15 in one of the pics...all white oak and pignut hickory...burns like a dream... I do have to agree. Did a great job on that setup. I bet the stones can hold a bit of gear once heated up helping to heat the room

That's beautiful Ashwatcher! I feel your pain brother taking out means more room to put in though. I'll tell you what I dislike is not using a whole rack before the end of the season lol. I don't like mixing vintages of firewood just my ocd thing I guess.

Thats funny my friend-I don't so much mind having leftovers but I like a few here like having my wood in stacks by species and then I blend as I wish...works out pretty much as each load tends to be of the same variety by that days project...I'm ok either way but when bringing in wood I like blending them by my choosing-my fave blend is beech and ash...red oak and locust is a close second...All good in the world of a hoarder...as your nutty neighbor says, and memorialized in my sig..."To each his own burn needs"...thanks to Eric VW

See this is where I'm lacking I don't have enough variety to make good mixed loads. Having a soft wood to light off fast mixed with a hard wood would be nice. Reckon all I can do is :saw::axe:
